Nectar Woode
“Lights Off”
Released 23.02.2026

Give a warm welcome back to English singer Nectar Woode. In 2024, she gifted us her EP Head Above Water — a project filled with soul, jazz, neo-soul, and R&B, all layered with her warm and expressive vocal style. Her sound is often compared to both classic and modern soul artists. The body of work includes the instant classic ‘How It’s Gotta Be’ — a song we still can’t get enough of.

Our day instantly brightened the moment we pressed play on her latest release, ‘Lights Off’. The opening of the track leans into her familiar, soulful sound before she surprises us. She closes the first verse with the line, “Got me on my knees, begging for some peace.” From that moment on, Nectar decides to have a little fun, experimenting more boldly with her vocal technique. For once, she steps away from her soft, warming delivery and switches to a more demanding, almost shouting chorus: “Turn the lights off!”

The song feels like just a taste of what’s to come. We can’t wait to hear what else she has in store after this fun, daring — yet still deeply soulful — release from the rising star.
